History

Middlewich DIY Centre is located on Lewin Street on the corner opposite the Library, it sells a wide range of DIY goods. Timber and sheet materials are also stocked all of which can be cut to size.

The business was established in January 1970 the proprietors were Guy and Greta Bracegirdle. Guy and his wife Greta ran the shop for several years until his brother in law Ian joined them in the mid-seventies.

Even today the shop is referred to as “Guy’s” i.e. “Walk down to Guy’s and get some glue.”

He retired in 2004 along with his wife Greta.

In 2005 the old wood store was knocked down and replaced with a larger more practical building that would lend itself to expanding the ranges within the store.

Guy passed away in August 2019 aged 84

Over the years the range of products carried have slowly increased to the point where most DIY enquiries can be fulfilled with something to solve the problem at hand.

Philip, Guy's son, still runs the shop today along with his wife Tracy, ably assisted by Andy
